Home Sweet Home

Burning Man is not a festival, it’s an event and a city in the desert. The majority of people who go to Burning Man are part of planned, registered camps. The main event is everywhere; it’s where people like you contribute interactive, creative, incredible experiences to share with everyone. Camps are organized groups of people doing just that. Camps are the heart of the community in Black Rock City.

There are lots of camp types to choose from, ours is a Theme Camp. Theme Camps are groups of Burning Man participants who come together to provide a service, entertainment, art, or other creative interactive experience for everyone at Burning Man. We are focused on ancient thematic parties, offering beautiful costumes and a pleasant place to stay for burners.

Why Karfagen?

'Karfagen' is the Russian word for Carthage - it was a Phoenician state that included its wider sphere of influence known as the Carthaginian Empire. Obviously, it is not the reason why I chose this name. I was interested in ancient history in my childhood. When I got the idea to organize the camp for Burning Man, a few images came to my mind; to be more specific: Punic Wars/Roman conquests, the siege of Carthage(lasted 3 years) and war elephants ofc. So, that is how I selected the name of the camp.
